About Grenzwald
Grenzwald’s products include herbal liqueurs, spirits, fruit liqueurs, cream liqueurs and brandies. This German company’s products are highly rated especially the Grenzwald-herbal liqueurs which are lightly sweetened, have a higher than average alcohol content and a spicy kick. Each product is macerated and distilled using herbs, flowers, roots and fruits.

The company was founded in 1882 when it produced both spirits and wine. In 1933, the company was purchased by Otto Ficker. Operations stopped during WWII and began again in 1948. In 1949, Fritz Fickers (Otto’s son) took over the business but since the company was located in East Germany, locating ingredients grew more and more difficult. When the wall came down in 1989 the plant was modernized and expanded. The company has a Schnapps Museum in Crottendorf, Saxony located in the picturesque Erzgebirge region.
