This Belgian beer glass has the Trappist Rochefort logo on the front in gold. This is a rare glass and comes directly from the Trappist Abbey in Belgium and supplies are very limited. The top of the bowl of the goblet glass is rimmed with gold. The inside bowl of the glass has an etched nucleation point in the shape of the Rochefort "R." This allows for a steady stream of carbonation while enjoying the beer.
About Trappistes Rochefort
The Rochefort Brewery (Brasserie de Rochefort) is a Trappist brewery located in Belgium and product three beers. Each beer is numbered and color coded; Rochefort 6 (Red), Rochefort 8 (Green) and Rochefort 10 (Blue). Each beer gets stronger in alcohol content (ABV) as the numbers progress. Alcohol content isn't the only element separating the different Rochefort beers as each has their own unique character and flavor.
The brewery was founded in 1595 inside a monastery. Since then, monks have brewed and sold beer to fund the operations of the monastery and support charitable endeavors. . Rochefort is one of ten Trappist breweries in the world today and perhaps one of the more renowned.
