Drinking GamesDrinking alcohol is a social activity, best enjoyed among friends, the
more the merrier. Drinking games have been a party favorite since
Ancient Greece, dating back to the 5th century. Drinking games are about
good times, endurance, and intoxication.
There are a few types of drinking games:
Tolerance - Who can last the longest? Usually involving two or more
people, the object is to see who can ingest the most alcohol without
passing out.
Speed - Popular at pubs and bars, speed games are aimed at who can drink the fastest, quantity doesnt matter.
Skill Games - These games are about who can master a certain skill,
regardless of how much or how fast the alcohol consumption is.
Cards and dice - Usually involving multiple players and incorporate alcohol into standard games that use cards and dice.
There are many drinking games within the various types, but the most
popular games involve beer. Beer is a favorite at any party. Here are
some popular beer drinking games:
Beer Pong
Beer Pong is probably the most popular drinking game ever! Beer pong
supplies are simple, all you need is 12 cups of beer, two ping pong
balls and a table to play. The players are divided into two teams. Then
the beer filled cups are arranged on the table like bowling pins, 6 cups
on each side. The teams take turns trying to get the ping pong ball
into the other teams cups, if successful the other team must drink that
cup. Keep playing until all the cups have been hit and all the beer has
been drank.
Pass the Pitcher
Best played at a round table, pass the pitcher is simple and easy. One
person buys the first pitcher and then drinks as much or as little as
they like, before passing it to the next person. The catch is you can
only take one breath and your lips cannot leave the pitcher, or your
turn is over. The pitcher is passed around the table until empty.
Whoever had the pitcher before it was finished has to buy the next
round.
Quarters
Quarters is another popular beer game, you dont need much to play, just
one quarter, a cup, and a lot of beer. Fill the cup half full of beer,
spin the quarter, drink the beer, and fill the cup again. The next
person repeats the process. The object is to finish the beer before the
quarter stops spinning. If the quarter stops before you manually stop it
yourself, you have to drink the next cup of beer too.
Case Race
In order to play this game you need two teams, with at least 4 people.
Each team gets their own case of beer. When the referee says go, the
teams start drinking. Whichever team finishes the beers the fastest
wins. Every single can must be empty. Any spills are throw ups will cost
the team a 30 second penalty, added to their total time.
Drunken Battleship
This popular board game is more fun with beer! The same rules apply,
except the first player tries to guess where their opponents ship is, if
they are wrong they must take a drink. If theyre right then the
opponent must take a drink. This goes on through the entire game, but
when you sink a battleship the other person must drink double. So if
sink two ships, your opponent has to have four drinks.
